The things people do no longer surprise me at this point. Nor do I believe when they put these stories in the newspaper do they or should influence meor anyone else to just give up on God, or the church.
We look to the leaders of our church as that, as leaders but then when they do something beyond comprehension we simply realize they are just human beings like everyone else and they have things that drive them to do things that might be unthinkable such as this true story I read in a July 12th newspaper.
One might think it is shabby journalism but at the same time one has to use their own discerning abilities and put together why this particular person would do this thing.
It was reported that a certain man of the cloth was preying on an inmate. He was caught trying to pay the inmate to do an unholy act.
Apparently the 70 year old man of the cloth had $200 in his shoe and another $153 in his wallet when a guard at a jail spotted him kneeling Sunday in front of the prisoner, officials say.
When questioned, the man of the cloth admitted that on July 5th he paid the same inmate $120 and $150 on two separate occasions to allow him to perform oral sex in the man of the cloth's office at the jail.
The man of the cloth had been with the correectional system for 27 years and is a deacon at a another chuch. The jail has not fired him but has put him on administrative leave.
He could face up to 4 in prison on the charges that include official misconduct, engaging in a criminal sex act and sexual misconduct
Now what does this speak to you? It says that people had issues. They have to get them worked out. Then is there forgiveness? Yes.
It's a tough call but we are not in the position to judge anyone even when they do the worst of worst things. We see it and don't let this get to us.
That is why we have to do what we have to do to keep back and right standing with God.
Don't let what anyone says keep you from what you need to do.
